County Roads are a secondary system of highways lying between the Provincial highway system and local municipal roads. Their purpose is to meet the economic, social and personal needs of the community by providing long range transportation routes and interconnections between local communities and built up areas.
The Public Works Department administers, upgrades, maintains and plans for future requirements for the County Road system. The Public Works Department also provides engineering services to other County Departments and the following public services:

Trevor Lewis is the Director of Public Works and County Engineer and oversees all of the programs delivered by the Public Works Department.
