Social Housing
The County of Dufferin has been designated through the Social Housing Reform Act, 2000, as the Service Manager for Social Housing.
Dufferin County Housing Corporation was formerly owned by the Ontario Housing Corporation and managed by the Dufferin County Housing Authority. On January 1, 2001 ownership was transferred to the Corporation of the County of Dufferin. On January 1, 2002 management was transferred to the Housing Services Unit of the Community Services Department of the County of Dufferin.
Housing Services is responsible for the administration and delivery of a wide range of housing services for the County of Dufferin. This includes maintaining the centralized waiting list for subsidized housing, managing and operating the County of Dufferin owned properties, administering the Rent Supplement Program and funding and administering the non-profit, co-operative, municipal and federal housing programs in the County of Dufferin.
