An alternative housing provider may offer programs such as short-term and/or extended stay shelter, housing assistance and other social services to individuals and/or families that are homeless, hard-to-house, or are at risk of becoming homeless.

In the County of Dufferin, Family Transition Place offers these services to women and their children, the Salvation Army assists any individuals and families seeking assistance, and Choices Youth Shelter assists individuals 16-24 years of age.  Service Providers outside of the County of Dufferin are also available.
