Wild Turkey Hunt

All users of the Dufferin County Forest are hereby advised that April 26-May 31 is the spring shotgun/archery season for wild turkey in 2010.

In an ongoing effort to enhance our customer service to Dufferin residents, the County of Dufferin is registered on twitter.com and publishing road closures.  The winter months see an increased number of road closures and it is important to keep residents informed, says Warden Allen Taylor.  As soon as County staff are notified of a closure, a one-line message is published via cell phone and twitter is automatically updated.

The Council of the County of Dufferin at its annual inaugural meeting held Thursday, December 10th, elected Mayor Allen Taylor of East Garafraxa as the Warden for the 2009/2010 term.

Breaks Ground for New Affordable Housing Units

Orangeville, Ontario - The Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the County of Dufferin broke ground today for 13 new affordable housing units for seniors in Orangeville.  The project is supported by $910,000 in funding through the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program.
